Housing support project

With the goal of supplying 1 million new and renewable energy houses (green homes), the government provides government subsidies for a portion of the standard unit price when new and renewable energy sources such as solar power, solar heat, geothermal heat, small wind power, and fuel cells are installed in houses. It refers to government projects that are carried out.

(Project cost: A project in which local government subsidies other than national subsidies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and the applicant pays a certain amount as self-funded amount to install residential solar power generation facilities.)

Support target

“Single-family houses” and “multi-family houses” specified in [Appendix 1] of Article 3, 5 of the Enforcement Decree of the Building Act.

Building support project

For the purpose of using electricity, all buildings except houses falling under Article 21 of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Regulations on Support for New and Renewable Energy Facilities, etc." and buildings and facilities owned and managed by local governments falling under Article 26 This refers to a project to install solar power generation facilities by subsidizing a certain amount of installation costs when installing new and renewable energy sources from the government. (Installed capacity: 50kW or less, Project period: within 90 days after selection)

Eligible for support

All general buildings (houses and buildings owned and managed by the national and local governments are excluded from support)

Project procedure

1. Apply for the project (Applicant, participator→center)
  • (Applicant) Fill out a project application form and request a contract from a participating company.
  • (Participating companies) Final submission of project application after reviewing business suitability, etc.

2. Review submitted document(Center)
  • Review application documents (check submitted documents and eligibility for support)

3. Evaluate applicant – choose(Center)
  • Evaluation and selection of business suitability by energy source, etc.
4. Submit final project plan(Applicant, participator→Center)
  • Selected projects submit a final project plan (in the case of geothermal heat, after submission and approval of a geothermal use review report)
5. Final project approval (Center)

※ After final approval, if necessary, one may apply(applicant, participator → center) for an advance payment, and upon application, an increase in performance guarantee for the advance payment is required.

6. Application for facility construction and installation confirmation (Applicant, participator → center)
  • Facility construction completed (including REMS linkage) and apply for installation confirmation (CID code input included)

7. Check Installation and pay subsidy
  • If the installation confirmation results are appropriate, a subsidy will be paid (when applicant agrees)

Local support project

Regional Support Project New and Renewable Energy Regional Support Project refers to a project to strengthen the energy supply and demand system of local governments and promote the development of the local economy through the supply of environmentally friendly new and renewable energy sources suited to regional characteristics.

Eligible for support

Buildings and facilities owned or managed by local governments (including social welfare facilities)

Support ratio

Within 45% of the project cost (Local Government Matching Fund) / * In case of BIPV, within 70% of the total project cost is supported.

Mandatory installation project

A system that mandates that buildings with a total floor area of ​​1,000 m2 or more for a certain purpose that are newly built, expanded, or renovated by public institutions such as the national or local governments must supply at least a certain percentage (30% in 2020) of the expected energy consumption with renewable energy.

Obligatory installation of new and renewable energy

All three criteria below must be met to be recognized as a building subject to installation obligations.
